Description
Sometimes inspiration is in a cupboard! This still life has vivid colors in it. There’s a dynamic play between the layers beneath and the more distinct, semi-abstracted, elements on top. The viewer might recognize elements of everyday life while embracing the abstraction. The colors blend and fade into one another, creating a harmonious backdrop for the semi-abstracted shapes. The shapes suggest the silhouette of a vase, a jar, a plate, purposely a bit crooked. They are strategically placed to evoke the balance and quiet of a still life.
I like to combine painting and drawing in my work. This still life was painted on a wooden panel and framed.
