The Stream

This painting is part of a small series of waterfalls. Sparkle, Pink Splash and this one called the Stream. Spacious, open and with a combination of cool water and warm light.
It is made with acrylics, and there are many layers underneath which especially shine through the 'white' parts (which are merely colored whites) in it. Also occasionally I used pencil to bring in lines. I love combining painting and drawing in my work. And as usual I brought in recognazible but a little distorted elements, that bring in a spacious and open feeling.

Dit schilderij is onderdeel van een kleine serie watervallen. De andere heten Sparkle en Pink Splash. The Stream is vooral wijds en open, met een combinatie van koel water en warm licht.
Het is gemaakt met acrylverf, en het is geschilderd in vele lagen. Deze techniek gebruik ik vaker omdat de onderliggende kleuren dan door de 'witten' heen kunnen schijnen. Ook is potlood gebruikt om lijnen aan te brengen.
Ik hou van de combinatie tekenen en schilderen in mijn werk. En zoals gebruikelijk heb ik herkenbare maar ook enigszins vervormde elementen gebruikt, die het weidse en open gevoel benadrukken.
